Fonetic Friday: Word of the Day

Fonetic Friday: Word of the Day

Hey, you know those cool words they make you type when you comment on a blog, the ones that prevent spammers from commenting? If they were real words, what would they mean? See if you can come up with a definition and use it in a sentence.

Today’s word is: Smshang

HAVE FUN! AND HAPPY FRIDAY?

Smshang: This is my new favorite curse word. I use it in place of a combination of filthy words I used to spew out, usually when I stubbed my toe, or when the cat chewed up a pair of shoes. FYI: I have no idea how to pronounce this. I just spew out a bunch of mashed up letters.

“Smshang, Mitchell Lafayette, no fancy feast for you, you #@!$. Mommy loves you though, fat boy.”

  1. SMSHANG: The fringe on the edge of middle eastern carpet.

"I always hang on to the smshang when I ride my magic carpet into the wind"

(I love new words, real or not and I think the Google boys are so lucky to have invented a verb.)

  2. I think it's when you're trying to send a text (SMS) and it takes forever. It's hung.

"Man, I tried to text you but there was a wicked smshang so I gave up"

  3. Er, it's, er, like when someone sends a death threat via text.

  4. Your most difficult fonetic challenge yet. SMSHANG?

How about a game of Hang Man (do you know this game?) but for the digital age played on a mobile phone OR could it be the sound that two intergalactic planets make when colliding? Yes, I prefer the second one, most certainly the noise of two planets colliding.
